Verticordia etheliana

I’ve been warming you up.  The previous flower posts have all been plants that are fairly familiar to many of us – or at least have similarities to other flowers that may be native to where we live.

But, Australia has some pretty amazing and diverse flora – the likes of which I have never seen before – including this plant – a species of Verticordia (derived from the Latin verto cor – the turner of hearts). Their common name is, rather appropriately, Featherflowers.
