This one is a Wax Grevillea. The white fluff at the base of the stamen looks just like the ruff seen around the neck of a vulture!

After looking at your recent photographs of Australian plants and flowers, it makes me even more curious to go to Australia where plants and animals are completely unique and different from the rest of the world.
Hi Bama – it really is amazing just how many new plants and flowers I saw on this trip! I would have loved to have spent longer there, but I guess I can be lucky that I was visiting in Spring 🙂
